Echo what everyone has said. Siebert was pretty good. Got on
with the action on the pitch with minimal fuss.
But the lack of control in the dugouts was embarrassing. Yes the
clubs need to learn to behave, but officials need to learn to
manage it. It’s hardly as though this was a one off scenario for
either club. They’re probably the worst 2 in European football
for it.

Typical snarling, aggressive behaviour from Arteta. If UEFA have
got any testicles they will give him a touch line ban for the
Final. To me that would be far more damaging and constructive
than a meaningless fine

Atletico might complain about the two penalties not given but I
think VAR was correct not to get involved. As I said when the WC
list was announced Siebert was unlucky not to get picked
(although he did go in 2022). Think Hernandez is a decent ref
but seems strange he's suddenly on the list after not many big
games....

What is the point of having a defined technical area if neither
of the benches are confined to it and the team referee do
nothing to stop transgressions.
An early card for the first transgression would set the standard
with more to follow and we wouldnt have the scenes towards the
end. I guess team referee are only following the authorities
orders.
Next it will be like rugby with water carriers running on the
field of play passing on instructions.
Very poor throughout from all.

Good performance from Siebert tonight, he really should be going
to the World Cup. Poor from Stieler tonight.
It’s a bittersweet night for me, so so happy for Arsenal going
through to the champions league final, but feel bad for Oliver
who has been outstanding this season and will miss out on
European finals. Hopefully England don’t get far and he can get
the World Cup final.

i wish they would - i'm of the opinion that the players would
play with more freedom and relax more if he wasn't constantly
instructing and gesticulating - just let them get on with their
job!!!

Marginal decisions seemed to go in Arsenal's favour - I thought
it was a clear foul by Gabriel to pull back the attacker when he
went round the keeper, and then the decision to give a foul on
Gabriel prior to the foul on Griezmann was also soft. On another
day Atletico have 2 penalties.
The antics of both benches, but Arsenal's in particular at the
end, were unedifying. Managers simply should not be allowed to
spend the entire game outside of their technical areas.

It should be simple to control the technical areas. The boundry
lines should have electronic "trip" beams and once the alarm is
tripped a warning should follow. A second "trip" bringa a
yellow card, and a third would bring a red. A red card comes
with an automatic one match stadium ban, doubled for subsequent
red cards.
This is clear, simple and unarguable but it requires the
controlling authorities to have - as the OP stated - testicles.
But they don't and so this brilliant solution will not be
implemented.
