Everton v Man City - Michael Oliver

I think he has had a solid first half. Yellow card for Keane
       spot on for me.
Could be a heated second half.

I see Autocorrect is having its effect on the title of the
       thread… 😁
Man City must be having a tough time against Everyone…

For me that Keane tackle is a red card.
It’s maybe not quite “clear and obvious” enough for VAR to
intervene but I’d strongly argue that ticks all the boxes for
       serious foul play.
He’s probably only got away with it for intent - plays the ball
there and it’s a “classic old school tackle”. But a few
centimetres higher at that force and we’re talking a broken
       bone.
Not that this is a reason to agree, but almost all opinion on
bbc HYS and social media is that it’s a red card so far.

It’s interesting the threshold at which a challenge like that on
Doku is elevated to red from yellow if VAR came in and had a
       gander.
I’m guessing a planted foot and an ankle buckle is probably the
starting point at which the screen referral is recommended.
At first glance from the camera angle it could have easily been
a red card, but Oliver had a better view and went yellow.
Elsewhere, some really silly push and shove in the first half,
and could be a testing second half for Oliver. Half time came at
the right moment to try and calm things down.

A great advantage, but imo Michael should’ve gone back and
cautioned City’s #14 for an obvious SPA.

Correct overrule from Oliver to allow the goal after Burt
       flagged for offside…

If the referee plays advantage, the player hasn’t SPA……

But that’s his intent though? Could’ve been booked for pulling
       an opponent.

Pulling an opponent is not a cautionable offence in isolation.

That Bernardo Silva challenge from the corner a couple of
minutes ago is exactly what needs clamping down next season.
Howard was right to not intervene to stay consistent with what
       hasn’t been given this season.
