That would make sense then. So Rock removes the PTT equipped
one and passes it to Taylor and takes Coy's always-open set to
       take the centre role.
It also makes sense that the 4th Official would need a PTT
version because, as mentioned in other replies, not everything
said by a 4O during a game would need to be heard by the referee
       or two assistants.
Thanks for the answer. An interesting insight from those with
the answers within for us outsiders who are without.

       No worries :)
I've actually been lucky enough to use one of the comms set used
by a WSL official, which is where my knowledge of the system
comes from. A freind has also used a variant with an open mic
for the 4th and he told me it was incredibly distracting, and
the 4th got told to silence themself or take the earpiece off

Rochdale promoted back to the EFL… as they should have been

100 points and clear daylight between the other teams should
have been enough to get promotion even if you did finish second.

I am not convinced. On the odd occasion when I have used a
comms kit as a fourth official, they have had a button to set
them either as push to talk or open mic, which would seem a far
better solution than to have them permanently set as one or the
       other.

What are people’s thoughts on who will get each play off final
Due to recent appointments I can see Attwell getting
       championship.
       Ref: Stuart Attwell
       AR1: Constantine Hatzadakis
       AR2: Nick Greenhalgh
       4thers: Michael Salisbury
       RAR: Natalie Aspinall
       Var: Jarred Gillett
       AVAR: Lee Betts
       League 1:
       Ref: Tom Kirk
       AR1: Alistair Nelson
       AR2: Bhupinder Gill
       4thers: Anthony Backhouse
       RAR: Sam Lewis
       VAR: Paul Howard
       AVAR: Sian Massey Ellis
       League 2:
       Ref: Tom Reeves:
       AR1: Kevin Howick
       AR2: Alex Bradley
       4ths: Martin Coy

I don’t see Tom getting the L1 final as he has a L1 second leg.
If he had a first leg then potentially, yes.
Then again, they could throw a curve ball and appoint him!

I view Lewis Smith as the L1 play off final favourite. But they
could give it to Hallam but unlikely as he’s doing FA Trophy
       final.
I’m really not sure with Championship play off final. Gillett
had been my choice for quite some time. It could be Attwell but
I’m not sure it would be. I found Bramall’s omission from this
weekends PL appointments strange. Do they have something planned
       for him?
L2 for me will be Tom Reeves. I don’t see any other choice there
       really.

Regardless of the referees, the assistants write themselves.
James & Nelson L1 and Bartlett & Lehane L2. Best performers in
the EFL. Carney could possibly sneak into one of them as well,
again, highly rated by the top dogs in Europe.
I think Wade Smith could get the Championship PO on the line
       after his promotion.
Howard & SME likely to get the L2 VAR gig, L1 at a push. Highly
doubt they’d give them the Championship VAR gig, purely based on
occasion and experience. If it was more open, they would
       definitely be on it.
With all the (alleged) peeking behind the scenes adding extra
sparks to the final, they could put a very big referee on it -
who knows! I’d imagine it’d be a full FIFA squad with the
exception of RAR and possibly 4O.
