J GILLETT - Arsenal v Fulham

I have to say I’ve not been impressed with the offerings this
evening, both from Fulham and Gillett.
Missed a clear foul on Leno when he was taken out when trying to
catch the ball, a high foot from Trossard not punished and very
surprisingly a foul not given when Andersen jumped over Gykores
and floored him.

hi,
in contrast to the previous poster, i thought JG had a decent
enough game only showing the 1 x YC midway through the first
half. robert jones as 4O did a fantastic job of containing
arteta within the technical area boundries prior to the first
goal, after which arteta become less animated and nervous and
even started acting like a normal person at times [emoji15]
regards,
gnr

I thought it was either a number of missed fouls, or a referee
letting a lot of contact go. Depends on your perspective I
suppose. Wasn't a foul on Leno though, both players clearly
going for the ball with contact to be expected and Leno came out
second best. Only thing I'd say was that on another day, with
another referee, Lukic would have walked for a second yellow for
a very cynical challenge, but in a game like today, Gillett
seemed to take pity on Fulham and let him off which he might not
have been able to in a more challenging game.
Overall though, I think he contributed to a fun game of football
without the need to stop start it or flash the cards. [emoji106]

Credit to Jones for keeping Arteta in check.
These two managers are probably the most difficult to police in
the premier league and he certainly kept things under control
down there.

Only saw the highlights, but what I saw there looked excellent.
Let the game flow and strong enough to wave away players on both
teams milking situations for soft fouls. A few tried the trick
of just stopping, hoping to force the ref to give a foul, and he
called their bluff and just played on! Never a foul on Leno -
attacker was already there, went for the ball and GK ran out,
jumped above player and came off second which is tough luck.
Player doesn’t have to get out of his way!
