Wolves v Sunderland - Paul Tierney

These hair pull red cards are getting softer and softer, when
even the opposing teams fans are singing fuck var you know its
       gone too far.
Guess this isn't a big enough game like a fa cup semi final or
title decided so, violent conduct applies even when its a
       terrible directive
So much has been defended by Webb as "what the game wants" is
this really that? When do teams get the badly fitted wigs out?

Every player will be growing a ponytail over the summer.
       Terrible decision.

The directive isn’t that a hair pull= red card. There needs to
be force in it….at least according to their directive
But this is certainly very soft

Tierney can't seem to make his mind up either..... one week he
gives a red card, the next he doesn't, now this week he does.
This is blatantly inconsistency and quite frankly isn't good
enough, even by his what I believe are incredibly poor standards
he has set in recent times.

Right, we have to be careful when we start saying things like
       this about one individual referee.
Paul Tierney has been the on field referee for 4 questions of
hair pulling recently (Man Utd vs Leeds, Brentford vs Fulham,
Man City vs Fulham and today).
The simple fact is he gave nothing every time because it’s so
difficult to identify in real time.
There is inconsistency from VAR and it seems they don’t know
with 100% certainty when to intervene.
What I will say is I’m really starting to dislike this directive
on hair-pulling. I don’t think this is what ‘violent conduct’
is. It has to be clear and intentional and some of these aren’t
in my opinion. And players are just going to keep growing hair
longer and we will have a higher proportion of red cards for
       this type of offence ever.

There was another incident recently enough which he was in VAR
for and done nothing about, also you shouldn't have to be bailed
out by VAR more than once for identical offences. If hes being
told once that a hair pull is a red, he should be able to use
that experience to know that another offence like that also is.
Not good enough from him in my view.

As a Sunderland supporter i am not going to blame Paul Tierney
       but let's get some perspective.
Bald or short back and sides there is no contact worthy of being
perceived to be violent conduct and if a player chooses to have
extremely long hair then it is by personal choice however should
referees not have the authority to insist the player concerned
tie it back. After all if [ as a player] I was wearing chunky
bling jewellery the referee could order me to remove it so why
can he/she not insist long hair is tied back ?
Because I am unable at present to get away tickets to follow my
beloved side I chose this afternoon to watch the National
League North play-off between South Shields and Buxton which
kicked off one hour after the Premier League fixtures.
The Buxton number six had long dreadlocks so as it was one hour
after BDB had been sent off I took particular interest in the
player concerned and challenges with opponents. There were
several coming togethers during the game but the referee saw
each for what it was and dealt with them accordingly.

New incoming directive, all players must have hair shaved or no
       2 at worst.

Not a complaint but how frustrating that hair pulling went
unsanctioned last weekend. Add to that the City v Arsenal game -
there is no way Ballard’s actions are as violent as the head but
that was deemed to be not red card worthy. VAR is not the
problem - the inconsistent application of VAR by PGMOL officials
       is.

Just saw the highlights and Ballard quite clearly pulls his hair
Not sure what the fuss is about?
