       Id say give it to Scharer, what can go wrong? Siebert though for
       me seems the more likely candidate in a PSG v Arsenal situation,
       given Zwayer has been rejected by the committee and seems set
       for a rather drab and short World Cup.

       I think it's unlikely that either Makkelie or Schärer would be
       in the running for the final, given that they refereed a semi.
       It's only happened twice in the last 20 years that one of the SF
       referees has gone on to referee the final - Marciniak in 2023
       and Clattenburg in 2016.
