Agree - this is the 3rd time we will be having Neil this season,
and both times before that he was awful.
On a side note - I’m reffing on the Crewe pitch on Sunday, on
the line for Crewe Alex women v an Everton XI

I hope the yellow kit is available!
[/quote]
In fact I wore yellow last week at Crewe academy! Man City wore
black 😂

I won’t tell bmb if you don’t! 😜

I didn't think Neil was too bad in the FA Cup tie v Donnies, but
maybe my recollections are not as good as they used to be. 2000
fans coming from Cambridge to see them try to win automatic
promotion. I hope AR2 Steve Durnall has a hard hat with him on
that side of the ground. I shall be there..

And just like that, the season comes to an end! Best of luck to
everyone supporting clubs still playing for something and a big
thanks to the posters for an enjoyable season and the admins for
their hard work. Hopefully any officials working their last
weekend get a fun and drama-free final game.
Matt Corlett, Ollie Yates, Paul Howard and Matthew Russell with
some of the most important league one games. Jacob Miles and
Scott Oldham get the two mammoth games in league two.
Elliot Bell and Tom Reeves there with dead rubbers, I would
predict that’s a sign to keep them out of any spotlight for
playoff appointments.

Hmm, seems like a load of nonsense to me - Cambridge Utd fan
getting in his excuses ready for them losing on Saturday?
😂

Wondered how long it would take!!! Maybe a little bit of
thinking from the appointments team would elleviate the
situation although I know it will be the last thing from Neil's
mind (perhaps Posh want CU promoted, guarantees at least 1 full
house!)

Add Lee Swabey, Crawley v Salford, to the list and also (I
suggest) Neil Hair (Crewe v Cambridge). We may be in party mood
in the Main Stand at Crewe on Saturday but the 2000 Cambridge
fans most certainly won't be, at least until 5pm.

Or it could be back to back years for heartbreak in the Crewe
away end on the last day!

Nice game for Carl Brook to pick up from Matt Corlett at Bolton.
James Oldham takes over Carl’s original match, after a much
maligned performance at Scunthorpe in midweek.

Crewe Alexandra FC (First Team) v Cambridge United FC (First
Team)
Football League 2
Referee: Hair, Neil
Assistant Referee: Archibald, Matt
Assistant Referee: Durnall, Steve
Fourth Official: Jackson, Aaron
Wow, what an awful ending to the game. With, roughly, a minute
to go fans near me were shouting out for stewards and then
paramedics. A Crewe fan had gone into cardiac arrest. I’m only
17, and this was the first time I’d saw CPR in action. It was a
horrendous sight. An air ambulance has since landed on the
pitch….
Hopefully positive news will follow.
Onto the game and once again a very poor performance from Neil.
He was too inconsistent in recognising offences. He gave
Cambridge a penalty in the first half, personally this wasn’t a
pen. I haven’t seen it back yet but it looked extremely soft and
the Cambridge player made the most out of it. Crewe were
dominating for the first 13 mins…. Until, surprise surprise, the
Cambridge keeper went down!!! This needs to be sorted out for
next season - immediately.
I don’t think there’s much else to say - I wasn’t impressed by
Cambridge at all considering we had 5/6 first team players
missing. A 0-0 was a fair result, and I think both teams
could’ve gone onto win it.
Well done on Cambridge for their promotion. Bring on the Vale!
(And a very interesting summer…. 👀)
