'Tis the time of year when we look to see who is retiring /
departing from the PL and EFL. As you probably know, I maintain
a database of 'final games' for referees, and if you know of any
departures, please post details on this thread. But please only
confirmed departures, not 'a friend of a friend told me
that....'. Some referees have been missing for a long time, but,
as in the case of Sunny Singh Gill, are making a comeback late
in the season. I'll update my database with confirmed
departures, matching them to their last games on the PL or EFL.

Simpson has moved into a coaching role.

Thanks for these so far. I agree with Simpson and Bond but, as
they are both SG referees, I'll wait until we hear anything from
the PGMOL, as we did last season with Scott and Davies. The pity
is that 'last games' seem to have lost their significance,
particularly lower down the league, and the days when retiring
referees got a good send off, sometimes at the ground where they
had started their EFL careers, are now gone.

Best of luck to him - I know he’s a popular official on here,
but I have to say when i’ve seen him, he’s had a poor couple of
years (as well as some injuries). A move to use his many years
of experience for benefits off the pitch sounds sensible.
