Very fit referee who I have seen have many decent games. Tonight
he has for me one of the worst foul detection performances I
have seen for a long time. Lots of fouls given when none
committed. He had a clear view of the penalty appeal and gave
nothing but I suppose that’s the current style of var will bail
them out. As I have said a capable ref who is not having a good
game

He’s had a poor season reflected in the late call up for
Hernandez to the World Cup as Sanchez Martinez was rejected.

I've not watched this match so can make no specific comment. As
a general point though; I have noticed a lot of match reports on
this site recently commenting on very poor foul detection from
referees. I would suggest that gamesmanship and attempting to
deceive the referee is now so endemic and sophisticated that
it's very hard for a referee, in real time, to always know what
is a genuine foul and what is a piece of simulation. It is the
practitioners of the dark arts who chiefly determine outcomes
and must bear the responsibility.

In principal I would agree with whistleblower. However this
performance could not be blamed on the players . He got so many
fouls wrong giving to the wrong side. Not aware of his current
standing in Eufa . As I said before very fit in his movement
around the pitch. Just a very very poor performance in relation
to his foul detection. A bad night at the office
