Bayern Munich v Real Madrid Referee: Slavko Vinčić

A cracking match but I have only seen the extended highlights on
TNT. The key moment was late in the game with the scores level
on aggregate when the referee gave a second yellow card to
Camavinga who delayed the restart, the player having been
cautioned earlier.
This was a key moment and I would be interested to read other
people's view on the second yellow?
IMHO, correct in Law but a little harsh given the fact that the
player was already on a yellow card. Vinčić was very
quick to get the yellow card out and I do wonder if he was too
quick as he didn't appear to realise that he had already
cautioned the player. By then, it was too late, Vinčić
couldn't back out. So was the card harsh? Again, imho it was a
silly thing for the Real Madrid player to do but would the fact
that he was already on a yellow card have influenced the
referee's decision to issue yellow had he remembered it? What
would happen if as proposed, second yellow cards are reviewed
noting that in England at least the threshold for a second
yellow is supposed to be higher?
Real Madrid are angry overlooking their own failures but they
contributed to a terrific match.

The only person to blame for the red card was the Real Madrid
player. A stupid thing to do knowing that he was on a yellow
already. I fully back the referee in giving a second caution.

Agree that I don't think that the referee had realised he had
booked the Madrid player. Up until that point, the referee had
been almost faultless. But I don't think its a good look to
forget you've booked someone at that level. And there had hardly
been many bookings before hand.
Made up he did send the player off, though. Play silly games,
win silly prizes. Don't see it as harsh whatsoever.

Given this conduct by Real Madrid players at the final whistle I
would have been really happy to see every single one of them get
a red card.

Foul detection was shockingly inconsistent.
Correct syc for camavinga but he doesn’t give it if he had
realised he was already on yelloe(similar to makkelie in Europa
league a few years ago and it cost him ucl final)
UEFA have a problem of finding 4 refs for semi finals…
Great chance Taylor will get psg Bayern first leg
I’d give nyberg Arsenal Athletico fiest leg.(siebert another
option). Ya could say one of the French but they both reffed the
2 teams involved this week.
Rossetti will be praying marciniak will be able do one of the
second legs and toss of coin between kovacs and vincic for other
second leg(depends who rosetti thinks got burned less in qf)
That’s leaving oliver makkelie open for final depending on
teams(letexier more realistic for Europa league)
Dare I say Mariani for a psg Arsenal final🤐

If i remember rightly the referee pointed to 2 fingers,
indicating the foul and then delaying the restart were worthy of
a yellow card and i fully agree.
I would think Vincic knowing he was on a yellow and that
Camavinga had also fouled a few times since the first yellow
thought persistent infringement was a good enough reason to
bring out the second yellow.
Agree with Pm2 he was very inconsistent in foul detection all
night.
I would also say think he is overrated by uefa too, but thats
just my opinion.

Yep fully agree. Very overrated imo too. If he wasn’t Slovenian
I don’t think he’d have a champions league final.

I normally support the English teams in the championship but
this time I wouldn’t mind if Arsenal went out of the UCL because
then I think Oliver would get a well deserved UCL final
appointment.
I agree that I think Taylor will get the first leg of PSG Bayern
which again would be a deserved appointment.
If Arsenal were to reach the final, our English refereeing teams
will feel quite hard done by because the Europa League final is
now out of the question as Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest will
be in the final. Our officials would thoroughly deserve a UEFA
final this season and it would be an incredible shame if they
were to miss out.

If none of our officials are involved in a European final, I can
almost guarantee they will receive a very good appointment in
the WC knockouts. Possibly a semi-final, maybe even the final.

The final should almost certainly be a possibility because I
don’t see England getting there… 😂 (or Scotland for that
matter).
