The card was out with such speed it sent me back to the days of
Mike Pearce and/or Jim Parker.
The referee was, however, ideally positioned and 100% correct.

Correct non-award for me. There is a minor hold which does not
impact the attackers movement who feels it and goes to ground.
The fall is not close to being consequential of the contact.

My grandad was sat by the assessor. When he didn’t give this
decision, the assessor shook his head and wrote notes down…

I would imagine from the stand it probably did look a lot more
of a penalty, but my genuine opinion is that the ref has judged
the incident well. I do agree with Ollie that the slide after
the Crewe player goes to ground is a little out of control, and
were something given for that I don't think you could say it was
wrong, but the actual incident that saw the player go down I
don't think is enough for a foul. Out of interest, do you think
it is a foul on the basis that the players movement was impeded
by the brief hold? By the alleged barge in the back? Or by the
tangle of legs which I believe to have been initiated by the
attacker leaving his leg behind him?

I wasn’t at Valley Parade tonight as I’m working up in Scotland
this week. Instead I went to watch St Johnstone seal the title
against Dunfermline, congrats to them!
By all accounts, O’Connor didn’t have a great game, and to be
honest he’s a referee I’m a big fan of but feared this game had
come too soon for him. Having watched the goal we had disallowed
for offside after 5 minutes, I have to agree that it looks like
the occasion got the better of him. He signalled a goal, not
noticing the AR’s flag, suggesting he hadn’t fully settled and
didn’t really have his head in the game early on…
Great result for Tranmere tonight, I bet Boz is the most
relieved member of the forum this evening!

relieved member of the forum this evening!
Many thanks Olliebcafc for this. I certainly was feeling much
better this time last night, after the game was over. It was the
first time I'd been to a TRFC away win in over a decade, which
improves our chances of staying in the FL significantly.
Cheltenham Town (First Team) v Tranmere Rovers FC (First Team)
Football League 2
Referee: Parkinson, Stephen
Assistant Referee: Allen, Ashley
Assistant Referee: Amey, Justin
Fourth Official: Swabey, Lee
Mr Parkinson hadn't had the best of times in two previous Rovers
games he'd taken charge of, but was absolutely fine in this
match. Good positioning and fitness, and only one YC issued for
a shirt tug by a Cheltenham player near the end. Tried to allow
the game to flow and keep a low profile and in a game which was
largely played in good spirits, that approach worked/
