Rare howler by Kovacs.. only a yellow on field for a clear dogso
by Cubarsi. Luckily corrected through VAR and Barcelona down to
ten!

Everyone is encouraged to have their opinion, and if you’re not
a fan of him that’s fine I look forward to seeing your posts of
him when he doesn’t have a good game, but also maybe when he
does.
I don’t think ‘all’ are complimentary of him though, seeing as
you, along with the post before yours is claiming he made a
howler.

Seriously? 😂😂
As Ben said, everyone is entitled to their opinion whether it’s
good, bad or indifferent and we don’t stop anyone voicing them.
As to the so called hype he’s the only referee to have been
appointed to the conference league final, Europa League final
and Champions League final so he’s clearly very highly rated by
the UEFA referee panel. FIFA rate him as well, evidenced by his
FIFA appointments.
If you don’t rate him that’s absolutely fine, I’m certainly not
bothered by that however I strongly suggest you voice your
opinion minus the pathetic personal digs…

For me he is (very slightly) overrated. He seems to struggle
when changing up from his normal style. Still one of best refs
in Europe but just doesn’t suit every game which would put him
top 2 maybe

What a disappointing comment. Not only have you made no effort
to analyse the referees performance, you have made an unprovoked
and, frankly, nasty comment about one of the administrators.
While we all respect the admins on here and their opinions, I
don’t think any of us could care less about which referees they
like when we evaluate a performance. In fact, I’d suggest you
are the one letting an admins views influence your posting.

Away from the DOGSO, one of the things Barcelona weren't happy
about was a 'handball' by Atletico on a goal kick situation.
There seems to be more and more of these incidents occuring.....

PS- Barca also saying it should have been a red card/second
caution

Given there are no attacking players in the same post code,
their insistence that it's a clear yellow card is ridiculously
uninformed.
I can accept the argument for a penalty, but I do think it's
better off left alone. (Although some clarification on matters
such as this would help... no offence if it appears to be a
genuine error unless it's done to deny the opposition obtaining
posession)

But could it be interpreted as delaying the restart?

It could theoretically, but you couldn't give a penalty and a
caution, you'd only be able to do one or t'other. And even if
you're not giving a penalty, it would need a fair bit of
additional context before I reached for a caution for DTR

Would it help to ensure that the ball at least leaves the
goal-area for it to be "in play"?
That might remove confusion as anyone daft enough to put their
hand on the ball outside the goal-area derserves to be
penalised,
