Maybe that should say "David Hutton and Tom Holden". It's not
like a press article to get everything completely wrong though
is it (!!).
It does look like it may have been Nicoleta who was temporarily
geographically challenged.

Gateshead FC (First Team) v Scunthorpe United FC (First Team)
National League - Premier
Referee: Brown, Declan
Assistant Referee: Malton, Matthew
Assistant Referee: Jarvis, Danny
Fourth Official: Hall, Bradley
Really good game for Declan Brown got a clearance of with
handball by the Scunthorpe defended absolutely correct call a
penalty and a red card was wise to cheap fouls although
personally he did gave one of two which i thought were soft, he
also booked the home manager for constant swearing which is fair
enough and we had a claim for2 penalty one wasn’t for me and the
second personally I’d have given it if I was him. However a
massive 3 points for the Heed in the quest for survival which is
now looking more than likely with Brackley 1-1 against Boston
and Morecambe 2-2 against Carlisle which leaves Braintree
relegated sadly with 2 spots left the heed have to get 1 point
away to aldershot on Saturday to be mathematically safe for
another season after a dreadful first half of the season in NL
how we Rob Elliot is for me my manager of the season what he’s
to turn us around is short
Of remarkable from where we were. Looking forward to the
appointments coming shortly

Not a phone call you would want to make!!
Surely ARs still get some form of confirmation from club of
match details? Club directory?
It's a very public "hands up, oops" kind of moment
(Not great for such a clearly talented official, especially
given her European appointments)

It could be worse, she might have ended up at Sutton ln Craven.
Maybe she checked Sutton United and was referred to the
Birmingham one.

For what it’s worth, George Laflin’s first red card was
definitely correct for a crazy high foot by an Accrington
attacker. His second was for violent conduct off the ball and
not caught on TV, but the Accy player didn’t complain.
I don’t have any strong thoughts on Scott Oldham’s performance,
I struggle to analyse officials in the 1 camera angle used for
EFL games. A few little bits here and there but nothing major.
The game itself was awful for 60 minutes, which adds to the
apathy, before Colchester finally got going and deserved the win
against, with apologies to Boz, what I thought was a terrible
Tranmere team.

It was Nicoleta Bria. Always a bit of jeopardy in making
mistakes in posts pointing out mistakes ! ;)
But seriously, how could this happen? I'm sure Sutton United
(Birmingham) is a perfectly good well-run club with a newish 3G
facility but they are FIVE levels lower than the Sutton United
who were playing in the National League against Southend United.
To me, this shows a staggering lack of awareness of the make up
of the the three men's divisions that she officiates in. Is it
brought about by her doing most of her formative officiating
outside of the Pyramid ?
Or perhaps she typed in Sutton United in her sat nav and failed
to notice she was heading north from Cambridge?

Port Vale v Rotherham
I thought Ross Joyce was 10/10 tonight. In a very scrappy game
he just went about his business. One yellow card which was very
easy. I like how he is telling the players where to take the
throw ins. Even penalised a Rotherham player for taking too many
extra yards.

I don't have that much to say either. Mr Oldham's approach to
the game in one aspect was infuriating. He chose to blow up for
the most minor contact on the one hand, yet was totally
indifferent to holding. Joe Ironside was being grappled
constantly, but the only free-kick awarded was after half a
minute when the nearside AR Mr Jones (?)flagged, even though it
was also clearly in the site line of the referee. I would much
prefer a consistent approach to all fouls rather than the
totally ignore/ton of bricks strategy Mr Oldham adopted in this
game.
Two YCs, the one for Colchester was a tug on Patrick's shirt as
he was getting away seemed clearcut. The one for Rovers Tamen, I
would like to see again, a sliding challenge studs not showing
and at first glance minimal if any contact with the Colchester
player seemed a little harsh, but I wasn't best placed to see
it. Arguably Tamen could have seen red for a foul shortly after,
but the referee settled for a warning.
As for the match, it was pretty dire; Rovers hopeless and
Colchester already on the beach

A mistake like this is terrible and implies really poor pre
match preparation. With such an important role would you not
double and triple check your route and match location.
I highly doubt she will make this mistake again, and will be
acutely embarrassed, but I think there has to be some sort of
sanction for this as it is very poor indeed.
