Anthony Backhouse: Portsmouth - Derby

My first viewing of Backhouse for a few years.. wasn’t very
impressed. Chucking cards around like confetti towards the end
and got a few too many restart decisions wrong. Deep into injury
time was the first time I’ve seen the 8 second countdown in
effect since August, but O’Donnell being a left footer had no
chance of releasing the ball, so should have been a Derby free
kick

Wasn’t his best performance. I think he fell for a few old
tricks and a couple of free kicks that were given I felt
should’ve been waved away. I felt most of the cards had to be
given myself.
Penalising the derby keeper for 8 seconds was a bit harsh. I
don’t think the Pompey players were far away enough from him
during the countdown. Just as well Pompey didn’t score at the
end because I think that would have been unjustified.

Again inconsistency kicked in, wouldn’t book anyone first half,
then 2nd half it’s like he remembered his cards.
Poor showing
