Thomas Bramall - Crystal Palace vs Leeds
By: TA_Ref Date: March 15, 2026, 9:58 am

Interesting end to the half at Selhurst Park for Bramall.
Think he got the penalty to Leeds correct. Clear deliberate
handball with his arm well away from his body.
Potential second yellow to Bijol- for me a free kick and no
caution is fine. Didn’t feel it met the threshold for second
yellow and Sarr made a lot of what has really a harmless
incident.
Then the big talking point, a second yellow to Gudmundsson.
Firstly, I think Bramall had a bit of a brain fade and didn’t
realise he was already on a yellow card. He showed the yellow
and then took a long time to administer the red card. He seemed
to be in comms with Tierney to double check he was already on a
yellow. I can’t really tell if the challenge itself warranted a
second caution. Haven’t seen a good angle of the point of
contact.

The penalty was spot on. I think the second yellow was more
because he did not play an advantage. It all looked very messy.
Not knowing which players you have cautioned. That’s the problem
with these fancy write on cards. I’d say go back to the classic
book as you can never go wrong. 😁

No way would Bramall had shown the second yellow had he realised
the player was on one already. Shouldn’t a referee be aware of
that situation ?

It’s never a second yellow it’s at best a soft foul. He’d have
been far better playing advantage and letting palace get
forward. Very messy not knowing who has been booked. One of the
basics of refereeing!

Absolutely awful refereeing.
As mentioned, it's not even a caution. Then, not to record it on
your card or book is criminal.
Basics, basics, basics.

100% he only cautions because he’s realised he’s messed an
advantage up. Then panics when he realised the player was
already on a caution
Really is not acceptable at that level

Very poor Gudmondsson first yellow was soft and followed a clear
shirt pull on him. I agree with all the previous comments about
the second yellow. Gudmondsson now suspended for one game, no
right of appeal. So should the referee be suspended. Completely
inconsistent when it came to not giving the Palace player at
least one second yellow. This is now three Leeds latest league
games against Man City Sunderland and Crystal Palace when the
referees have been very poor. At premiership level some of the
officiating has not been good enough.

The celebration by one of the Palace players when the red was
finally issued was hilarious. You would have thought they
(Palace) had scored a goal.
