Can only comment on uefa as idk enough about the other
federations.
Personally tbink all 16 will go to the World Cup.
13/14 as main refs
And 2/3 as fourth officials.
Probably Peljto/pinheiro or maybe Scharer?

Atwell has completely fallen out of favour within uefa and prob
Salisbury ahead of him even.
Barely gets any ucl games as var this season.
Don’t think there’s any chance he goes

For those who are interested, the UEFA world cup seminar is now
at the end of March in Italy, split into 2 groups as the World
Cup playoffs clash with the seminars.
Group 1 - 24 to 27 March 2026
Group 2 - 30 March to 2 April 2026
Group 1
Marciniak – POL
Nyberg – SWE
Oliver – ENG
Sánchez Martínez – ESP
Schärer – SUI
Turpin – FRA
Vinčić – SVN
Group 2

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that from the 6
semi finals, 6 of the 7 refs from Group 2 are going to be used
as they are on the dates of the group 1 seminar (id guess Peljto
omitted based on his treatment this season). And of the 3
finals, refs from group 1 will be used as the group 2 seminar is
on these dates.

Spanish referee Alejandro Hernandez has been added to the list
now for the pre selection he has been added to group 1 who meet
up 24th -27th March with group 2 meeting up 30th March - 2nd
April
The rumour mill has it that Syzmon Marcinaks injury is set to
sideline him for around 6 months upto now Marciniak is still on
the list for the WC so Hernandez is either a replacement or he’s
on standby but closer to making the list should Marcinaks injury
keep him out

Think the long term injury rumour wasn't from a reliable
account. Pretty sure I saw somewhere it was a small back injury.
Interesting that Hernandez has been added, he's had a few good
appointments recently but still a surprise. FIFA maybe not
convinced by some on that list.

If Marciniak had a really bad back injury I’m sure he wouldn’t
have been lifting the numbers board at Anfield when Raczkowski
replaced him on field.
He wouldn’t have been have one of the bench occupants performing
that duty.
