I think Peter Bankes had a great game. It’s about time referees
start booking players for simulation. He is strong!
Paul Howard let him down as VAR during the Leeds vs Man City
game on Saturday.
Peter Bankes for the FA Cup Final?

Didn’t give Bruno YC for his petulant display of dissent
including the words Fu*k off during added on time

I think it was ok from Bankes but nothing to write home about.
The Ramsey red looked messy, has to be input from AR2 as Bankes
seems to give a goal kick and walk away.
Gordon penalty correctly given IMO, but a huge delay, given,
then seems to turn around. Another game where audio would be
interesting and probably explain people’s questions. I don’t
think Robinson gets involved as one angle shows him seeming to
be writing something at the time.
Joelinton should 100% have walked, that’s where Bankes needs
support from anyone 1 of the other 3 officials.

In what way? Paul Howard has been flawless on VAR this season
IMO

For some reason Joelinton an Guimares seem to be treated pretty
leniently

Thoughts on burn v shaw incident. For me he looks at where Shaw
is and there’s a deliberate movement of the elbow into the face.
How is that not a red card?

I did consider an RC when it happened but I think the fact that
Shaw is basically hugging him, he never looks at him makes me
say no RC. I think he's just trying to shake him off

I agree that referees should be hard on diving but there is no
way that was a dive by Ramsey. He simply lost his footing and
made no effort to appeal for a penalty. Thank goodness the law
is changing next season to allow VAR reviews of dodgy yellow
cards.
Another point I would like to raise is why referees hardly ever
book players for time wasting until the last five minutes. In
the first half last night Manchester United were taking an
absolute age over goal kicks in particular. What is the accepted
protocol for punishing time wasting?
