I could be wrong based on the angles shown but is there not an
arsenal player offside stopping a defender making a play on the
ball there

The 1st one ball was still in Raya's hands so i had sympathy.
The second one was a bad one i can't defend him on that, a bit
too safe from England.

Clear second yellow for Neto. Correct to stop play and send him
off.

I don’t rate Darren England at all. Just not a fan of his
refereeing style. Missed clear advantages. I get the red card
you won’t play an advantage but for the other two he should see
the bigger picture. Very quick to whistle all the time.
Think he has fallen for a few old tricks this afternoon too.

I'll keep banging the VAR drum forever. It's ruined football. As
a fan it destroys the joy of celebration, and all it does is
highlight the inconsistency and subjectivity from week to week.
What's worse is that it makes it *more* frustrating for fans
because they can very easily point to decisions where the
opposite decision has been made.
Now, as predicted, they are expanding it to further ruin the
game. It needs to be binned off immediately and let the
officials get back to making decisions.
It's too cosy, with the VAR not wanting to get decisions right
but instead doing everything possible to justify the on field
decisions, which IMO have got worse since VAR was introduced
because the refs know that VAR is there anyway. I cannot
comprehend how Brooks can look at those two incidents from
corners and say they aren't fouls, but I know that if penalties
had been given then he would have agreed with them. And that's
why it is such a shambles.

A little while ago Martin Samuel, writing in the Times,
described Darren England as "one of the poorer referees
operating in the Premiership". It's hard to disagree with that
judgement when considering performances like this afternoon's.

A lot to reflect on in that game. I didn’t see the 1st half so
can’t comment on his general performance there but I have seen
all the KMI’s.
For me, the Rice handball is a handball and should be penalised
however we have similar incidents not given across the season.
I’d say Chelsea v Villa (think it was Maatsen’s arm) and Leeds v
Man City last night where arms were outstretched but because the
ball was coming over bodies from a cross, nothing was given. I’d
assume today’s was similar but for me it should’ve been
penalised.
I’m going to go against the grain here but I don’t see a foul by
Raya on Pedro. I think they both go to play the ball at the same
time and both make contact with the ball and the contact is
glancing at best. In my opinion, Joao Pedro made a lot of a
little. It was very unlike previous incidents we’ve seen where
goalkeepers give away penalties where contact is flush in the
face. This incident was glancing at best on the top of the head
and I’m really not seeing that as a clear and obvious error
myself. I’m sure people will disagree with me on that one.
The non-advantages for Arsenal really irritated me. Especially
the first one. There was no real need to blow up for a foul when
Raya still had the ball even though he’d been blocked a couple
of times. I had more sympathy with him for the second one.
Palmer hauled down Saka literally a metre away from him right in
his eye line and he had to caution that really. If we’re being
critical then yes try and delay the whistle and assess the
situation but I had some sympathy with him there.
By the letter of the law, he had to stop the Arsenal attack
after Martinelli was borough down by Neto and administer the
second cautionable offence to Neto.
Disappointed he fell for the Timber simulation - I called dive
live and was very disappointing he gave a free kick.
Very, very average again from England in a game that in honesty
needed a referee in top form.
