Jarred Gillett - AFC Bournemouth v Sunderland

Can someone please explain how that is not a penalty on Le
       Fee!?!
Into penalty area, shaping to shoot and shoved through the back.
To compound my frustration, Gillett has just given Sunderland a
free kick for an almost identical situation on Hume.
Stonewall penalty for me - poor from Gillett, poor from VAR

It’s 100% a foul in my opinion - leaning into and proceeding to
push an opponent with an elbow is a clear foul. Very surprised
it wasn’t given onfield by Gillett and poor from VAR as you
       said.

Think the yellow card for Adams is correct given he was pushed
before he went studs up into Xhaka. He probably would have been
off had he wasn’t pushed in the first place.
A little inconsistent from Gillett this afternoon, the penalty
not given looked in real time a clear push, plus a similar
offence was penalised outside the box.
VAR just as guilty for the non penalty award as well, and they
had the option to send him to the screen.
Dealt with all the push and shove in the box in the first half
firmly and the players were quick to button it when he was
       talking to them.
Gillett falling short of his usual very high standard offerings
       today.

Stone wall penalty and then a clear penalty for Bournemouth just
before half time when xhaka hauls down the Bournemouth attacker.
This is a poor as performance from Gillett I can remember for
       some time

Think Gillett has been very inconsistent today overall.
A poor performance highlighted by incorrect non award of
penalties and having to resort to a card fest as the game seemed
       to getting away from him.
A display to match what they think of the colour of the shirt he
wore might be a view of an esteemed poster.

In addition to the above - that was never a free kick in the
thing between Kroupi and the Sunderland goalie.
First half or early second half can't remember which 2
Sunderland players prevented a free kick from being taken, later
in the 2nd half 2 AFCB players prevented a free kick from being
taken, now you could argue at least it was consistent & yes it
was but that's 4 potential bookings for delaying the restart
       completely missed or ignored.
He started out being too lenient, let too much go and as a
result the game got away from him and he responded by seeing
fouls where there were none and dishing out cards like confetti
because he had no authority and players from both sides had lost
any respect for him. The second half was very bad tempered
because of it. There's no bad blood between the teams, never has
been, we've only played them 5 times previously in the 126 years
       of our existence.

Apparently Gillett was spotted at Bournemouth station on a
platform full of Sunderland fans - can imagine a few chants were
       thrown about.

Possibly just online bravado. After the game he would have been
taken back in the people carrier to the hotel which is actually
in Poole not Bournemouth. Even if he then caught the train home
it would have been from Poole and whilst the train would have
stopped at Bournemouth (1st or 2nd stop depending on if it also
stopped at Branksome) I doubt he would have got off the train
only to get back on it to carry on the journey. The hotel is
about a 15 min walk from Poole station.

I, too, thought he was not very good today. Rather erratic at
       best.
Others have mentioned the two non-penalties. Cant understand how
the keeper got the FK in the Kroupi incident.
There was also an incident late in the game that had me
scratching my head... During a Bournemouth attack, Senesi went
down in the Sunderland area holding his head. Gillett rightly
stopped the game to check on him, and after a very short period,
Senesi got up, seemingly fine to carry on. Gillett made him go
off the pitch even though no-one had come on to treat him.
Unless I have read the Laws wrong, I can't understand why he
       made him go off.
At least he didnt let Sunderland get away with timewasting.
