hi,
ferocious atmosphere as you would expect - PB has done ok but
the delay of 6 or 7 minutes for a comms issue is disappointing
[emoji34]
let's see what happens in the 2nd half [emoji15]
regards,
gnr

I think Bankes has been excellent so far - consistent with his
decision making and staying calm in the atmosphere.
Of course the delay was annoying but that’s technology for you,
it fails every now and them. It is part of the professional
game. Gary Neville saying it’s a disgrace the game was stopped
for that long is ridiculously over the top.

Bankes has been on top form again.
Another technology issue before the second half.
Gary Neville over the moon by the two stoppages 😂

How does the tech fail twice in the space of a game🙈

Neville certainly needs to get over himself. Saying "it's a
disgrace" is frankly ridiculous. However, why didn't they look
to rectify the second issue during the half time break?

Very soft that decision to disallow the goal, you see that sort
of contact let go throughout games normally

I detest situations like that where there is minimal force on
the back of the player who keels over like he’s been viciously
assaulted.
Unfortunately, VAR would not come in and get involved to suggest
a screen review when the on field call is made.

Excellent performance in such a near impossible hostile
atmosphere

Brilliant again from Peter Bankes.
Consistent with his foul detection. All the YC’s were spot on.
And probably the biggest compliment I can give him is he managed
to just blend into the background of a North London derby.
I don’t have an issue with the Spurs disallowed goal. It looked
a foul live to me. Bankes actually done well to delay the
whistle until it went in the net to allow VAR to look at it. VAR
definitely not coming in to overturn.
I think Peter Bankes has been one of the most improved officials
in the last two years. He’s gone from a very average SG1 referee
to the performing close to our elite referees and is producing
excellent performance on a regular basis. Everything about his
performances is very very impressive. A cup final would be a
good reward for his season but the EFL Cup final, I imagine,
isn’t going to him and I still believe Kavanagh will get the FA
Cup final.
A shame with some of the technology failures but that’s life.
Sometimes things fail and don’t work when you want everything to
go smoothly. Refereeing at the professional level is a lot more
than one man in the middle and two people with flags as Gary
Neville seems to think. He should think a bit more before he
speaks.
Excellent from Peter Bankes and team. Very well done 👍
