       R EAST - Plymouth v Scunthorpe

Looks like Leeds v Villa all over again except Scunthorpe
haven't allowed Plymouth to re take the lead after the keeper
Macey threw the ball out to get medical attention, Scunthorpe
intercept the obvious attempt to stop play to get treatment and
       score...
       Looks utterly disgraceful.

He was powerless, and his demeanor seemed to show his disgust
and his disappointment at the situation.
Something needs to be done, because two weeks on the trot is
unacceptable, but I am not sure what can be. Sportsmanship needs
to prevail, with Bielsa it did but unfortunately today it
       didn't.

I guess things got a bit feisty after, given East had to show 9
       yellows in the game...

I don't think there was anything unsporting in what Leeds did.
Probably a slightly different situation here. As mentioned it
can't be said that East did anything wrong although I suppose
some referees might have whistled straight away rather than
waiting for the ball to go out - I would always advise caution
with an injury to the goalkeeper. It happened very quickly
though so not much the referee could have done even if he'd
       wanted to.

I've seen the incident though not sure how the game was going at
the time. However, teams have started to use the keeper getting
'injured' to stop the game and opponents' momentum, almost like
a time out, so with the ball not out of play and no obvious sign
of serious injury I'm not sure a ref would necessarily stop it
just cos the keeper appears to want to stop! If football wants
sportsmanship, it's the clubs who need to dictate it, not blame
the officials every time something like this happens.

No, I have read the other posts and saw no one was blaming him,
but I was just offering an alternative explanation as to why
refs might not always immediately stop the game for a so called
injured keeper, when in the past they might, as teams have
cottoned on that if the gk goes down, they don't have to be a
man light at the restart! And of course this was an equalising
goal, so as they were winning, they might want to stop the game
       and slow it down.
I did clarify that I didn't know the ins and outs of this one,
clearly from what you say the keeper was actually injured, but
it may surprise you to learn football isn't always as honest as
it seems....And at no point does it excuse the lack of
       sportsmanship shown by scoring!

       the season
