I agree about Kavanagh. He won’t be out for another week I’d be
pretty certain of that. I don’t think he’ll get thrown into the
major spotlight so quickly so maybe a lower key game for him.
Regarding which other referees might get a PL outing, after
today’s performance in the steel city derby I think Josh Smith
has to be back in consideration again. He’s been touching SG1
for so long now and a PL game would be deserved. I think we
could see Lewis Smith a little bit more regularly between now
and the end of the season as he’s had a good year in the
championship and sounded like he had a decent game at Stamford
Bridge.
Apart from that I think it’ll be the usual officials getting
games every now and then - Kirk, Hallam, Kitchen and L Smith.
The other 3 in the supplementary group : Ricardo, Toner and
Herczeg, are not quite PL ready yet but I think they’ll continue
to be pushed.

We don't know yet whether Kav has a Thursday night game in
Europe. Europa or Conference League. If he does that would rule
him out of a Saturday PL game anyway.

I am sure another visit to the continent with his regular team
would boost his confidence if he is away again midweek, like
last week, then Fulham v Spurs might be a good game for him and
a chance to wear his purple shirt.
