Wolves v Chelsea - Jarred Gillett

From only the brief highlights earlier, Chelsea were awarded two
penalties by Jarred Gillett and to me, they were penalties.
Both were for an ankle tap and the other one a push, and though
both decisions incensed the home crowd, Gillett got them both
correct in my opinion. Even the Wolves manager supported the
decisions afterwards.
That’s why Jarred Gillett is a good referee, he doesn’t bow to
pressure and gives the decisions as he sees them at the time. He
is having a very decent season and in my opinion has to be in
the running to do the EFL Cup final in a few weeks time.
If not that match, then either the FA Cup final or the
Championship play off final.

Agree that both penalties awarded are penalties. I think they
are relatively clear cut offences, but great decision (possibly
with input from AR1) to determine the second one was inside the
penalty area.
I think Chelsea should have been awarded a third penalty on 48
mins for a foul by Jose Sa on Joao Pedro. Jose Sa jumps to
collect a looping high ball and Joao Pedro clearly pulls away
from any attempt to challenge for it. Jose Sa sticks his leg out
towards Joao Pedro and leaves it horizontal, making contact with
Joao Pedro’s hip. A clear foul in my view and totally
unnecessary by Jose Sa. Should also be a yellow card at the
minimum.
