Tony Harrington has a busy midweek as well - 4O at Chelsea, VAR
Wednesday and Brentford v Arsenal Thursday.

His busy week has been shortened, Brooks now in the middle at
Brentford v Arsenal.

And by Farai Hallam as 4O at Chelsea on Tuesday. Yet he keeps
his VAR appointments, suggesting an injury :(. What rotten luck!

Hallams game at Palace is now pretty significant given that West
Ham have closed the gap on them to six points…
Burnley are essentially gone for a burton now, but if Palace
lose, it’s squeaky bum time at Selhurst.

Well done VAR Brooks for bailing ex FIFA referee Pawson out of
the mire who didn’t know the LOTG today at Anfield. Quite
shocking to think he incorrectly originally awarded a goal….
Maybe a refresh at next camp is required.

You may disagree but the facts remain that without VAR
intervention Pawson would have incorrectly awarded a goal
contrary to law and that goal could have a bearing at the end of
the season.

So for clarity we are suggesting allowing goals scored contrary
to law?
Don’t imagine Arsenal would be impressed losing title by 1
illegal goal but certainly a good topic of sensible debate.

[/quote]no one is suggesting that.just saying brooks did a good
job on var recommending review and the correct final outcome was
reached(the exact purpose of var)

My point is that an ex FIFA referee should be expected to make
that call on-field as he was perfectly positioned…..are they
getting too reliant on a safety net or is he not up to date with
the LOTG which is actually his employment.
Good debate though.

I doesn't seem like you're interested in a debate, it seems like
you're more interested in criticising Pawson. I can only imagine
he played advantage after the foul on Haaland and didn't feel
the pull by Haaland back on Szoboslai was impactful enough to
need to penalise. 'Safe defensive free kick' goes out the window
because it results in a red card for the fouled player so he's
now looking for a very clear and obvious foul. Show me a referee
that hasn't made a similar error of judgement?
