Norwich vs Coventry - Tom Kirk

Norwich City FC (First Team) v Coventry City FC (First Team)
Live on Sky Sports Football
Football League Championship
Referee: Kirk, Thomas
Assistant Referee: Bickerdike, Johnathon
Assistant Referee: Scholes, Mark
Fourth Official: Allison, Samuel
A really good first 30 minutes for Tom Kirk, I find his ability
to not get fooled by playacting very good but a big black mark
on the official’s report for a missed elbow by Thomas-Asante,
which would have been a red card if spotted by Tom or Mark
Scholes.
If you haven’t seen it, you haven’t seen it but potentially a
very consequential decision.

Definite red card offence and a ban should be coming for the
player, feel a bit sorry for the referee in that situation
unfortunately he is human and can’t see everything

Seeing the replay again at half time, you can excuse the referee
not seeing it but I’m pretty surprised the nearside assistant
hasn’t caught that.

I can’t blame Kirk for missing that act of thuggery from Asante.
AR Scholes probably had the better viewpoint and I think should
have seen that, but things get missed. Clear red card and a
stiff ban should be in place for Asante.

Asante has form for that from his Salford days, clearly he
hasn’t learned! I watched the second half and thought Kirk was
outstanding - not much he can do about this just a shame nobody
picked it up

Didn't see anything special in Tom Kirk, looked like most of the
SG2 officials. Appeared to give a number of "soft" fouls when
players went down. Although he can't be blamed if he didn't see
the off the ball incidents, I don't think it helps that the
modern day trained officials seem to have no desire to try and
get wider and look across the pitch, rather than down the pitch.
Again did nothing about the wrestling at corners but that's the
norm, and felt his 10 yards was more like 8. At least he didn't
book our keeper for timewasting!

Retrospective 3 game ban for Asante now issued by FA.
