The new rules that come in from the start of the next season
make it even more difficult for smaller clubs with less revenue.
I read a discussion within our fanbase where Rob (widely
considered as the go to guy when numbers are being discussed)
was trying to explain why we might already be looking to spend
less, despite the £62+ million just received for Semenyo to
ensure we are in line with the new rules. Have to credit Rob
with a lot of patience as he always explains these things to me
like I am 5 - he knows me and numbers have a love hate
relationship!

I think one consequence is that if you invest several tens of
millions in a club, you have to pay other clubs a share of that
investment! Not sure if this applies next year but I put the
Times down after reading that.

I did tell Rob I have been talking about him behind his back! He
may well appear and try and explain (for the bazillionth time)
what the new rules mean!

Iraola will go back to Spain - Bilbao if he's really lucky, that
would be his dream job. I don't think we'd lose him to another
English team. He & his family are settled locally but if a
Spanish job becomes available then I'd say he is 100% gone.
Out of the other's I'd probably take Glasner - whether he'd take
us or not is another matter! Frank - no thanks. Silva - I'd
hand over my ticket to be sold to a corporate every week...
