Tom Kirk you have my utmost respect.
He gives a Everton free kick for a foul on grealish. He stands
up and sarcastically applauds the decision. 2nd yellow for
dissent.
Absolutely brilliant from Tom Kirk. No fear in high pressure
decision making.
Edit - I mean it was pretty obvious but still well done for
sanctioning in a volatile home crowd

I agree excellent refereeing, I only hope the PGMOL back him,
and it isn’t suggested that next time he might manage (i.e.
ignore) the situation.

Very refreshing to see, particularly for a referee on a trial at
PL level and glad he stood his ground - gets my applause for the
right reason as opposed to Grealish's sarcasm 👏

I watched the whole game and Kirk was superb !!! Refreshing to
see strong decisive refereeing, not being swayed by a big crowd
and more of a high profile player sanctioning red too !!
Excellent..:: how refreshing, refs like Barrott / future young
refs wanting to come through the system, referee Kirk showed how
it should be done !! They all need to take note, because Kirk
now has done something that use to be done years ago, he has
layed a mark down for future respect, because people will think
twice about giving the mouth to referee Kirk in the future.
Honestly gave me a buzz to see such strong refereeing. Other red
was clear Keane with a clear yank of his opponents hair.

Can't blame him too much for missing the Keane red live. Clear
2nd yellow given to Grealish although some might not give that
to avoid upsetting the crowd/everton more.

Just want to comment again. Fully agree with what’s been said.
I’m unsure to how Everton have any complaints about both red
cards.
To add, some of the stuff I’ve already seen on X (twitter) about
Tom is disgusting. People calling him all sorts of names. (Even
found Tom’s work)
It is not the referees fault that Everton drew to bottom of the
league. It was 1-1 before both red cards.
And it isn’t just Tom who receives this sort of abuse online. A
lot of referees do unfortunately but nothing can really be done
about it…?

Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think he will be backed for the
Grealish second caution, it doesn't fit with the manage the game
mantra that is now drummed into all referees from L4 upwards.
The proof will be how quickly we see him again in the EPL.

Sadly you may be right. In the Fulham Chelsea game, Fernandez,
having been cautioned for dissent, carried on complaining to
Bankes. Eventually he was pulled away by a team mate. In my
view he was very lucky not to get a 2nd yellow card, but it may
well be that Webb and the PGMOL prefer the referee to ignore it
and avoid the red.

It’s always possible but I hope you’re wrong. Felt like this
appointment was a test at a grounds with a big atmosphere and
should be congratulated for making a correct strong decision.
Other players have been cautioned for this, so completely
consistent, and being a second RC shouldn’t make any difference.
To be fair, only seen clip and the captain dragged him away
sharpish as players seemed to accept as a correct decision. No
doubt Moyes will have his usual ridiculous jibe at the ref
though.
