hi,
sean dyche (and marinakis too no doubt) are requesting audio
between rob jones and VAR during saturday's match with man
city...

i didn't see the match but i would be interested to hear other's
views for both of the incidents, and for the wider allegation of
an agenda against them by this ref.
regards,
gnr

On the appointments page I somewhat jokingly referred to Jones
being on the naughty step doing 2 fourth official games because
of his performance in this game. I don't subscribe to conspiracy
theories but the second yellow should have been given. Of course
VAR cannot intervene here and so it was a poor decision by Jones
and a key one at that. DG also felt it was an error and even his
hoppo eventually agreed. When the law was explained to him!!!
As for the penalty, not sure and may split opinion and so VAR
wasn't going to intervene.
Forest irritate me. They may, just may have a case here but
their credibility with me is rock bottom after previous
incidents.

Referees are human like players and do make mistakes, i would
agree a mistake was made in not sending off the City player for
what should have been a second yellow card. If you watch the
incident regarding the second City goal the Forest player was
very clever by wrapping his leg round the City defender's leg
and fell over hoping for a free kick, so if anything the correct
decision was made play continued and the goal was correctly
awarded.
It his surprising how managers complain when things don't go
for them, it appears a common theme with Notts Forest managers
in the present and the past.

It's one of the constants of football. When an officiating error
goes against a team, the manager's reaction is often one of fury
mixed with a general observation that referees aren't up to the
job. When an error benefits a team the reaction is one of "maybe
we got a bit of luck there " together with the old canard "they
all level themselves out over the course of a season"

There's a strong argument to say that Dias should have had a
second yellow, but requesting the VAR audio is totally pointless
as they obviously can't recommend a review for that even if it
was a complete clanger of a decision. The possible foul on
Gibbs White was very subjective as they both had hold of each
other, so also not one for VAR.
