I wouldnt bet on it, he will probably get a pat on the back from
his bosses for carrying out instructions to the letter.
Under the present regime the standard of refereeing has nose
dived in my opinion which is not the induvidual referees fault.

Sorry to grump yet again, but can we please include the name of
the referee in the title, after all, that's what this forum is
       all about, is it not?

James Bell immediately sprinted to the incident so he was
obviously aware that it was something that could spark a
reaction from the opposition. I guess we’ll never know if it was
Mr Bell or one of the other officials that convinced him that it
       was only a yellow.

why red wasn't issued but there is growing evidence that top
referees are under instructions to keep it at 11 v11 whatever
       the situation.

I’m still convinced that PGMOLs standard of detecting SFP has
been dwindling for some time. And I do think large parts of it
are down to doing their utmost to keep it 11v11 as you say. Very
noble thing to do, but if someone deserves red, go red.
Ironically, one of the current SG1 once gave me a piece of
advice; if you see an ‘orange’ challenge, always go towards red
       rather than yellow.

SFP?? That is violent conduct every day of the week. The ball
was not being sought with the boot, only the opponent's body.
