2026 Officiating Predictions

With Christmas out the way and the period of a thousand games
and not know what day it is about to begin, I thought it would
be fun to make some officiating predictions for the year ahead
and see what comes true! Here’s 5 from me to kick us off!
1) Farai Hallam will referee a premier league game.
2) Peter Bankes to referee the FA Cup final (providing Liverpool
or Everton don’t make it!)
3) The FIFA World Cup final will be refereed by an official from
either AFC or CONCACAF.
4) A female (most likely Abi Byrne) will take charge of a
championship clash.
5) A non-football prediction: Sam Nogajski will replace Rod
Tucker on the ICC elite panel after Tucker officiates his 100th
test match at Lord’s.

Kettle junior to appear in the Championship this year…
Gillett to do the Carabao Cup Final.
Harrington, Kirk and Duckworth to get the EFL play off finals.
Yellow to be worn at the FA Cup final. 👌👍
Sussex to win the t20 this summer with the ghost umpiring.

1 Chris Kavanagh to referee FA Cup Final with Tony Harrington
as 4th Official
2 Tom Kirk to be promoted to SG1 at the end of the season
3 Ruebyn Ricardo to get a Premiership match before the end of
the season
4 Carl Brook to referee whatever the Johnstones Paint Trophy is
called now
5 Most people will tire of the World Cup during the Group Stage
matches.

1. Farai Hallam & Ruebyn Ricardo will both make their PL Debuts
2. Simon Hooper will get the FA Cup final and wear purple for
it!
3. Jarred Gillett to do the Caribou Cup final and wear yellow
for it.
4. Anthony Taylor to sadly retire from FIFA after refereeing a
semi final at the World Cup
5. Non football - The absolutely amazing Norbert Kiss will win
the European Truck Racing Championship for a record breaking 5th
year in a row giving him another record breaking 8th

1 - EITHER Andrew Kitchen or Tom Kirk will be given games
regular PL games if Darren Bond continues to be absent.
2 - Ruebyn Ricardo will make his PL Debut
3 - Simon Hooper will referee one of the two big domestic cup
finals.
4 - Ipswich will be refereed by David Webb more than any other
official in 2026
5 - Chris Kavanagh will become a regular, either alongside or
replacing Oliver or Taylor, on the International Stage

Kitchen will referee Burnley games quite regularly

1. Peter Bankes will referee the Carabao Cup Final
2. Chris Kavanagh will referee the F A Cup Final
3. We will end the season still completely unsure as to what
constitutes a penalty for hand ball and what doesn’t
4. Attendances at The World Cup will be low but the corrupt
Infantino and completely disillusioned Trump will put spin on it
to pass it off as the greatest show on earth
5. Melissa Burgin will continue to have the best legs in
football

1. Howard Webb to leave PGMOL
2. Simon Hooper for the FA Cup Final
3. FIFA World Cup - The Officials for all of the quarters, semi
and Final will be from the USA Soccer Federation.
“Great job… wonderful job… me and Gianni get along great… he’s a
great person”
4. Ruebyn Ricardo to referee two premier league fixtures by May
5. Anthony Taylor to retire from FIFA
