Good first half from Madley, correctly booked the cheslea keeper
for charging out and having a go at him plus booked another
Garnacho too
edit: Gousto joins them in the book, also for dissent, Chelsea
losing their heads a bit
Bankes had a SOAT failure on a very tight offside for
Newcastle's 2nd which was given after what must have been around
3-4 minutes
Wearing yellow for good measure

I think he’s done very well in what was a pretty ferocious first
half, but Madley helped to stop it from boiling over.

Taking a tough stance on dissent has definitely helped Madley,
he's done well so far.
Edit: Almost as soon as I posted that, Newcastle had a very
valid shout for a penalty waved away by Madley and Bankes didn't
step in.

The easiest penalty of all time. I haven't a clue what Madley or
Bankes are watching. Scandalous.

But that denied penalty leaves me cold. Awful decision imho.
They are letting physicality get out of control.

I think it was a penalty by Chalobah, but those decisions are
very rarely given when a player is shielding the ball out of
play. It's infuriating.
The bookings for dissent were after Madley missed clear fouls -
not excusing the dissent at all but had he got the original
decisions correct the players would not be frustrated.
No idea how Barnes wasn't booked for a shameless and
embarrassing dive which Madley correctly identified.

Sounds like a typical inconsistent mixed bag Madley performance
these days , shame really as he was a top ref a couple of
seasons ago but seems to have lost his way a bit
