Thanks for this. I shall be there to see Roger bring the curtain
down on a long career. I will let you know if there are any
tears. I wish him all the best for tomorrow and in the future.

Wish him well for his future.
I wonder if we will see him on the VAR team next season?

Interesting that it doesn't seem like he will be continuing as a
VAR official - he says that he is planning to concentrate on
coaching instead and there is no mention of a specific role.
No mention of any other assistants (other than the ones
mentioned last week) or other referees retiring, unless any are
departing after Championship play-off final.
Hopefully there will be at least two promotions this summer,
given B Madley and East have gone since the start of the season.

A trip to Plymouth was a part of his farewell tour. Good Luck to
Roger, whatever his future path is.

Yes, usually they mention if they have another position lined up
within the PGMOL. As Mr East appears to have business interests
outside of the game perhaps the coaching is at a more local
level.

He May Have Been Offered A VAR Role And Turned It Down, The
Blokes In His 50s Now, So May Want to put his feet up more and
enjoy a more lowkey job.

Was just thinking that. He has a family run business with I
think 2 siblings so maybe it's his turn to put a shift in with
respect of the family business and coach locally in Wilts or
maybe Hants/Dorset as he's quite near to the county border.

Perhaps he will continue to be a frequent visitor to AFCB as a
spectator?
Keep that parking space swept for him! :-p

I've obviously no idea of accuracy or otherwise but Richard Keys
has tweeted that East has been 'told he's not good enough to
operate VAR next season'.
Has East been VAR for many games?

I might be wrong here but I just had a quick look through the
Cup Appointments on both here and the old site and I could not
find any record of East actually being a VAR on a competitive
game.
Again I'm not 100% certain but I think that every other SG1
official has been VAR at least once (well I don't think Bobby
Madley did but he was only there for a few months when VAR was
being used and it was only one or two live games per round
then.)
If anyone knows different please let me know!
