Scott Duncan was the oldest referee to make his debut in the
National League in August 2008 aged almost 46 so will now be 56.
As far as I know he is the oldest FL referee, a few months older
than Graham Salisbury. As long as they meet the performance and
fitness standards - and they want to continue - referees will
continue well into their fifties and maybe eventually we will
see a sixty year old referee in professional football.

My mistake must have read it wrong if he is 56 he still gets
about the pitch very well especially at that age
Also Woolmark must be one to retire saw him on Sunday at Wigan
and couldn’t seem to run anymore. Also any news on James Adcock
he came back briefly then vanished again such a shame if he has
to give in as always saw him as one for the future

It wouldn’t be the end of season on here if Salisbury’s possible
       retirement wasn’t mentioned !

This week's Premier League appointments will be interesting - if
any referees (or other assistant referees) are retiring there
will presumably be an announcement nearer the time.

Woolmark would probably be better - whoever he is.

There should be, but I for one didn't know for sure that Mike
Jones and Neil Swarbrick were retiring at the end of last season
until after they had refereed their final games. Perhaps one of
the disadvantages of not having a fixed retirement age.

Yes, although it was announced shortly after. And the fact they
have done an announcement for the assistants suggests they will
probably do one for the referees (if applicable of course).
