       Final Games

Some of you will have seen the long list of 'final games' for
referees over the years which I have posted under I Spy Old
Refs. Although there is no longer a fixed retirement age, it's
now the time of year when some of our current refs may be
thinking of calling it a day, and I should be grateful if you
could post the names of any refs who you know are retiring at
the end of the season. Like 'Bugsy' Malone at the end of last
season. Official rather than hearsay or wish-list please folks.
       Thanks, AT. [emoji1]

I’m not sure the appointments really give us any indications of
who might be retiring, but surely there are a few candidates to
       hang up their whistle!
The only potential links I can find is the Eddie ildertons
second ever league match was at Bury - his first was at Rochdale
       who are not at home.
Also, I’m not sure if Andy Haines has ever been to Crawley.
Maybe ticking off another of the 92?
Unfortunately, I don’t have any solid info, but I’d be mightily
       surprised if no one retires!

Hope they are both able to go out on high notes. Good Luck to
the pair of them in their new VAR venture.

Might go and put a pound on Steve Child being at Wenbley on the
       2nd BH Monday
       Good luck to both.

Congratulations to both officials on an excellent career! I
guess the introduction of VAR has been timed perfectly for them!
       Good luck for the future

Sounds as though they are both finishing this weekend. Yes, good
       luck to them both.

For me the likes of Kettle Haines and Salisbury snr will most
likely bow out. Also thought Duncan may do but after reading an
article from a few years ago found out he is only 44!

Those are the sort of names I would also assume would have
retired but surely this would have been confirmed by now?
