Never a send off in the 1st half. Cheap 2 cautions. Why was
that not a red card on 12 minutes for Ndidi???

I thought Oliver's tolerance for yellow cards was lower than
usual, although there were probably others who ought to have
been cautioned for dissent.
Didn't think it was Oliver's finest afternoon although I think
he's had an excellent season.

Awful performance, if this is our best we really do have
problems

Even Oliver is human. Very poor from him today which is an
unusual event in itself.
There has been some real rubbish in the PL this weekend, and
this includes Atkinson not sending off Rojo for a horrible
challenge on Willian, plus being very lenient in the first half,
Oliver above and Hooper and his non penalty award at Watford.
Haven't seen the utter shambles at Leeds yet but judging from
the comments Attwell's AR has hung him out to dry regarding
Bamfordgate.

I wouldn't say Oliver was 'very poor' but he wasn't at his best.
Didn't know what to make of the 2nd YC. Knowing it would be a
second caution and therefore a sending off, I felt it a
situation when a final warning would have sufficed. The Ndidi
challenge didn't tick enough boxes for me for a RC. It was
naughty and high, but I wouldn't say it was excessive force or
that he was out of control.
Last week, I was surprised that City v Spurs drew no comments at
all despite at least 3 penalty claims. As it happens, in my
view Oliver called them correctly, although I accept the Walker
incident, when the ball struck his arm as it rebounded from
Alli, would probably have been given in Europe with VAR. I
thought that was a better performance from Oliver although it
did attract some criticism in the media.

Don't forget Tierney and the non-penalty for the Ashley Barnes
handball. ;)

Have only seen brief highlights of this game, but it sounds like
Mr Oliver has moved from lenient in Man City v Spurs, where his
cards were largely kept in his pocket and no penalties awarded,
to harsh in this game.
City should have had a penalty yesterday, though Mr Tierney
didn’t appear to have a clear view of the incident, the AR
seemed well-placed to call it and seemingly didn’t.

Whilst one of many dislikes is of players from any side wasting
time, I do wonder if Gungodan felt the irony of his yellow card
for wasting time asking for a Burnley player to move a further
1/2 yard or so away (or maybe he was waiting for the whistle, I
couldn't tell whether it was blown as I had the sound off). He
was booked for taking too long over a free kick by the same
referee who in the game against Newcastle had booked De Bruyne
for taking one too quickly!

Cameras clearly showed that the assistant was also blocked off
by at least one Burnley defender. If you can see it you can't
give it, and that is definitely one where VAR would have
corrected the error.
