Felix Zwayer: Inter v Liverpool

We got there eventually!
A UEFA handball given against Liverpool, can't say I disagree,
it's consistent with those in the Champipns League so far this
season, however going on 5 minutes is ridiculous. I've never
heard of this VAR and he's not filling me with much confidence
after that!
Sadly, another Zwayer OFR, these are becoming a bit too common
for my liking, he'd be my choice so far for this year's final as
he's one of my favourite referees however he needs to start
losing these OFRS!

Curtis Jones should've been sent off for dissent (2nd YC), very
weak officiating from Zwayer.
Martinez (?) also made a money signal at the linesman (implying
he's taking brown envelopes), should've been a straight RC,
really weak again.

Zwayer has been awful tonight… and VAR has been even worse.
Could have stayed strong and not bowed to big brother but the
shirt pull on MacAllister and the exaggerated fall was a joke of
a decision.

That is one of the worst VAR interventions I’ve ever seen. In
rugby they always show these incidents at full speed, so why
isn’t the official here seeing it that way?

I don't like it, but it remains consistent with decisions so far
this season and therefore it will be accepted as a correct VAR
intervention, as backed up by experts on another forum.

Not a very impressive performance, but not helped by a very busy
VAR. Seemed quite weak overall. Accepted dissent, was swayed by
his VAR too easily. Neither intervention from VAR seemed
justifiable in my opinion, unless the threshold is now to
re-referee every potential incident. Not even sure the handball
meets the threshold in law given it seemed to be headed onto his
arm from centimetres away by a teammate.

Oh deary me. We have seen some shockers in the premier league.
I’m not sure I’ve seen one as bad as that.
I don’t need to say much. It is clearly not a penalty. A
shambles from the VAR official Soren Storks and incredibly weak
from Zwayer not to stick with his onfield decision.
‘Clear and obvious’ - what a load of rubbish.

While we all know that the handball rule is far stricter in UEFA
and FIFA competitions I am not convinced it’s a penalty all the
same . The penalty given for the tug was a joke Zwayer should
have stuck to his on field decision

Zwayer was prob top contender for champions league final coming
into this season but surely that’s gone now.atleast 1 ofr every
game including one shocking one last night.weak refereeing by
him.
If that was makkelie or Taylor that had this run they wouldn’t
get a knockout game never mind near a final..

Unfortunately because I rate and like Zwayer as a referee you
are likely to be correct but I hope he redeems himself if he has
any further appointments in the EL or CL this season
