Why is nobody suggesting Dar? Is he out of favour now?

Kumar Dharmasena and Marais Erasmus confirmed as on-field
umpires; Rod Tucker third umpire.
Again, how come Aleem Dar is out of contention?

Dharmasena was awful yesterday looked like the slightest

Dharmasena? Someone's having a laugh. I'm glad Erasmus is there
but Tucker or Dar should be with him on the field.

Couldn’t agree more. Dharmasena was awful at best and in fact
has had a poor World Cup. How on earth are these appointments
made? It’s nothing short of a joke to be honest.

Unknown to the umpires I can only imagine that the appointments
are made before the tournament even begins. Regardless of how
they perform, the only thing that would change that is the
countries who reach the final. Dharmasena started the last
world cup with an error in law and still made the final.

I agree with the general consensus that Dharmasena’s umpiring
has been below the standards expected from an international
official, particularly highlighted by the Roy dismissal. His
body language, when the finger went up, never indicated
confidence in the decision.
Having said that, the stats posted by Greeny, show that he has
the highest accuracy of reviewed decisions, when an umpire has
had five or more of his decisions reviewed. However, those
figures would have a different perspective if Bairstow had not
nonsensically reviewed his plumb lbw, leaving Roy with the
opportunity to overturn his injustice.
Statistics??

I too agree with the views expressed about Dharmasena. However I
am also of the view that there is no place in cricket for the
sort of dissent shown by Roy when he was given out caught
behind. What was he thinking about when his team was so close to
the Final? I think he can count himself extremely fortunate that
he is not sitting out the Final through suspension as he surely
would have done if he had shown that sort of dissent in a
football semi and got himself sent off. Hypothesising but I
wonder whether Dharma would have got the Final had Roy been
suspended. And not hypothesising, will there be another bad
decision followed by dissent tomorrow? We shall see!

"The sort of dissent"?? Talk about hyperbole!
His dissent was nowhere near deserving of any form of suspension
and the football analogy is wide of the mark. Football players
rant and rave, wave their arms about, point, gesticulate, eff
and blind, etc, with nothing happening to them.
I know cricket is a completely different game, but so were Roy's
reactions compared to footballers.
Watch it again; stunned silence at first, then a couple of
enquiries about what was going on. He reserved most of the
cursing until he was on his way off the pitch and into the
changing rooms.
