Think Hallam is close to a debut like Kirk but now seems to be
injured. Good to see Robathan back on avar.

I might be wrong but wasn't it Kirk that was identified very
early on in his refereeing career and progressed through the
levels quickly but moved abroad, America if I recall correctly,
so progress stopped. Since his return home his rise from
National League has been very quick and justifiably so.
Plenty of time for UEFA badges if his rise continues as
successfully.

I observed Tom Kirk when he was coming through the ranks and he
showed great potential then, you are correct he did go to
America with his work, but since coming back he has carried on
showing he has the ability to do well and i am sure with the
promise he has shown and now getting a Premier League
appointment has a good chance to go higher and obtain a UEFA
badge as he has age on his side.

If ever proof was required to highlight the difficulty of
officiating at the highest level then we have received it with
the absolute disgraceful com ents from David Moyes following his
players indiscipline. For Moyes to actually go on TV and state
that he “likes it” when his players fight is an embarrassment to
him and the club he represents. Would he have been saying that
if his team lost? Referee Tony Harrington was given no
alternative than to issue a red card and was strong enough to
administer the correct punishment. Had that been an opponent who
slapped Michael Keane in the face what action would we all have
expected from the referee? Michael Keane deserves credit for
showing restraint after being struck by his teammate or they
could well have been down to 9 players. Sometimes players have
to take responsibility for their actions…this was not passion…it
was violent conduct and Mr Moyes should set a better example to
those stupid enough to listen to him.

I believe he was also identified by a regular contributor on RTR
who happens to be a Crewe Alex fan, like me.

I predicted by Christmas on a SG2 appointments thread a month or
so back although backtracked a bit following the non penalty
award at Hillsborough. I hope that all goes well for him as I
certainly believe that he is a promising official.
