World class from Oliver once again…. nullified any signs of any
handbags getting out of control and was hardly noticed during
normal phases of play.
Not good from Attwell though… OFR should have been issued for
the offside goal.

Sublime from Oliver. Awful from Attwell who is my view is a very
poor VAR.

According to Dermot Gallagher, the Arsenal players were deemed
to not be impating/in the eyeline, as they peeled
away.........whatever that means

I heard Dermott say he thought 'this' was the most likely of the
3 to be disallowed. Was 'this' referring to the Arsenal second
goal?
Presumably the AR would have told Oliver "2 Arsenal players
potentially offside, line of sight?" or words to that effect.
Unless Oliver was certain that there was no offence, wouldn't he
leave it to VAR to assess?
This is why I'm sometimes puzzled by comments about subjective
decisions staying with the on-field decision.
There was a mass of bodies including 2 Spurs defenders between
MO and the GK so I don't really see how he was in a position to
decide one way or the other. Sometimes it's not an on-field
decision but no decision. Can he communicate that to VAR if it's
the case?
Have to agree with other posts that Oliver was very good in this
game. He does often seem to have the knack of calming things
down when handbags occur or exchanges get heated without being
too demonstrative, and the players generally respond. I noticed
on a couple of occasions he took his time talking to players
which also had the effect of cooling temperatures.
