No real surprise Sunderland v Portsmouth has attracted FIFA
attention... probably one of the biggest games ever in League
One.
Hooper gets a dead rubber at Watford, likewise Mason at Palace.
Scott with the south coast Derby and no surprise Atkinson is at
Old Trafford.

Don’t mean to be rude but Watford v wolves is hardly a dead
rubber. 2 points separate 4 teams in the battle for 7th and
possible European football next season, plus extra prize money
for where you finish! A very good game for hooper!

Knocked out following three Europa League qualifying rounds plus
a poor league start to this season for last year's seventh place
team Burnley, you have to wonder if it is worth it. It
certainly won't be viewed as a "dead rubber" match though.

Especially as if Watford finish 7th they are guaranteed Europe.
If they win the FA Cup they get it, if they lose they get it
because Man City have already qualified. Whereas the other
contenders would be reliant on City beating Watford. Either way
that most certainly isn't a dead rubber.

They only qualify via the FA Cup if they win it. It’s now
changed so that losing finalists don’t get the spot if the
winners have already qualified; the place reverts to the league.

Which was Rusty's point, if they finish 7th they are guarenteed
Europe regardless of FA Cup result
