Swindon is a ground where Rovers struggle at the best of times.
Gavin Ward seems to save some of his poorer performances for
when Rovers come visiting. Glad I’m scheduled to be out of the
       country this weekend.

Have I somewhere missed news of Scott Tallis? I don't recall
       seeing his name this season.

Crewe Alexandra FC (First Team) v Shrewsbury Town FC (First
       Team) Live on SkySports+
       Football League 2
       Referee: Reeves, Tom
       Assistant Referee: Aldred, Ryan
       Assistant Referee: Hunt, Jonathan
       Fourth Official: Watson, Dean
An excellent performance from Tom Reeves in the Cheshire
sunshine. Always was looking for advantages to play and brought
them back if nothing occurred. Was always happy to speak to
players to explain decisions. Consistent in what he was giving -
didn’t give many soft fouls to try and let the game flow which
       worked.
The only downer, not to the fault of any officials, was after
Crewe scored their 3rd, AR2 seemed to be in a bit of bother. He
pointed towards the Shrewsbury end so it seemed like something
had been thrown at him which is a real shame and I hope that so
called “fan” gets found and dealt with in the correct manner.
Tom dealt with this situation amazingly, by speaking to his AR,
then going over to the managers and head steward to explain what
       happened.
I expect to see him on more championship games in the near
future. Well done to the match officials.

Bradford City FC (First Team) v Burton Albion FC (First Team)
       Football League 1
       Referee: Hicks, Craig
       Assistant Referee: Newhouse, Paul
       Assistant Referee: Cavanagh, William
       Fourth Official: Miller, Andrew
Craig Hicks not great today. Better performance than us though.
The penalty was correct, but even Gary Bowyer would have given
       us that one!
His card management was a bit poor, cautioning Pointon for
simulation when the defender won the ball - Pointon went to
ground but wasn’t trying to con him, it was just a consequence
of a good tackle. A blatant SPA by Webster was also not
sanctioned as well as Burton’s 15 refusing to leave the field
after an ‘injury’. There could have also been a delaying the
restart caution but plenty of time was added on. I don’t think
either manager will be too happy with the officials today but
Burton seemed to benefit more from the incorrect decisions.
AR2 was awful including a random flag for a free kick which led
to Burton’s opener and 2 wrong offsides in the second half.

I can understand your satisfaction, and certainly he did nothing
to alter the result of the match, but I found his performance
unsatisfactory. I know he can’t help ploughing a furrow up the
middle, it’s the modern way, but it carries an obligation to
keep out of the players way. Three times he slowed down attacks
by making a player change direction to avoid him.
His alleged search for advantage involved stopping a quick break
and awarding a free kick for offside to the team on the break.
I am not sure, and nor can you be, that he was explaining
decisions. All we can know is that he spoke to them and he
maybjudtvasveasiky been telling them to shut up or be booked.
I have not seen so many blatant pushes go unpunished but for me
his major foul up was to award a free kick for slowing down the
restart when the “offending. “ player was two yards outside the
penalty area and static. He fell completely for the complaint of
the keeper and should have awarded a corner if my reading of the
       new provisions is correct.
As an away fan I also object to your assumption that something
had been thrown. I agree that if something was thrown the guilty
party should have action taken against him or her, but let’s not
jump to assumptions, it may have been something entirely
       different.
I have our Mr Reeves apron my list alongside Mr Ward of referees
I hope get or remain promoted, as it is unlikely that I will see
him again in that eventuality, but sadly it’s not something I
       would expect based on Saturday.

The reason why I thought something had been thrown was because
AR2 was checking his arm and I’m not entirely sure why he would
report something that someone has said unless it was extremely
       bad.
He always seemed to be talking to players and most of the time
it is for explaining decisions and not a general chat….
I have seen no one complain about Tom yesterday until this post.
