For me in my opinion the disallowing of the O’Brien header is
where VAR loses credibility because it’s not a clear and obvious
error nor is factual it is a subjective decision and in such
cases the on field decision should stand

Poor Craig looked petrified, think he hasn't been so scared
since BmB saw him at a Bournemouth game in his yellow kit.

In my opinion, that’s an excellent VAR intervention. The two
Everton players, Ndiaye and Grealish are clearly offside and
when O’Brien flicks it on, they are both standing next to
goalkeeper and are certainly interfering with his actions.
Craig Pawson’s soothing tone couldn’t calm the Everton fans down
though. You could almost see the fear in his eyes as he
announced it.

It's interesting, I always think Craig Pawson sounds so calm and
composed on the VAR audio clips, but I'm not sure he enjoys the
stadium announcements! That said he explained it clearly.
Tough call for me. I think it is offside, I am just unsure if it
warranted VAR intervention. This area of the laws in particular
I am weakest on so I will leave it to more knowledgeable minds
than I to lay out the applicable standard for interfering with
the goalkeeper, but I wouldn't be critical myself of the
officials.

The offside is factual,subjective if interfering,it was right to
send CP to the screen to make his own mind up

I think you've laid it out perfectly there, it's a very
subjective call and one that you can't really criticise the
onfield officials for not originally making, or Craig for making
his judgement at the monitor.
In other news, I think Craig thought Halloween came a week
early! Either that or he had a flashback from his time on the
naughty step!

Barring the disallowed goal, which I think had to be ruled out
for offside (but not an actual foul), not sure Pawson and his
assistants have got an awful lot right here.
Corners that were goal kicks, goal kicks that were corners, some
yellows awarded and some not for similar incidents.
Torrential rain not helping to a torrid game either.

Full credit to Moyes and Tarkowski for their responses, how
refreshing. To be fair, had it been Thomas Frank on the wrong
end (which he has been a few times this season), similarly not a
lot gets said.
Arteta, Dyche, Hurzeler and co, take note!!
