Penalty given for the foul by Van Dijk after VAR comes in to
alert Robinson.
That is an extremely close to call that a penalty for the foul
on the line…. Indeterminable to me just by watching the tv
pictures.

Good spot from KAV (NOT JOHN BROOKS!!!!!) on VAR there to give a
pen for being on the line. A good example of why we have VAR.
One of the better VAR announcements I've heard from Robinson too
I must say.
Edit, 80 mins in, TNT have finally realised that they've been
saying John Brooks' name all evening for no reason!!!!

Good second half cameo from Robinson, can be difficult for
officials who take over at half time to get to grips with the
game but he’s done well, more so that this is his first PL
outing this season.
Can’t blame him for the missed penalty, that definitely needed a
VAR microscope.

Not quite, he was in charge of Burnley v Leeds last week

Glad to hear Robinson done well - as someone that wasn’t the
best fan of him last season, because of his performances at PR,
I’m glad hes showing signs of improvement.

No it isn't, he just flung himself over.

Oh my, what a stunning game. Don’t think I’ve been more invested
in a game as a neutral for a long long time.
First word for Hooper, done well in the first half. Let the game
flow, let it be physical. In my opinion wasn’t a penalty on
Gakpo. There was no conclusive evidence of any contact with
consequence so Kav right to not intervene.
Robinson carried on Hooper’s work very well too. I’ve not seen
the best of Tim for a while but he performed well. VAR right to
intervene with the penalty call as it was just, but only just on
the line.
A word for the timekeeping in both halves though. Very accurate
both times and both referees were correct to play on until they
did.

Wouldn’t normally post about things that don’t happen on the
pitch but I have to mention this.
What an absolute joke of a post match analysis from TNT sports.
No interview for the Brentford manager, Keith Andrews but Arne
Slot gets his moment to speak to them and then we get another 10
minutes on how poor were Liverpool and what they need to do in
the next games. But then we get very limited time on talking
about how brilliant Brentford were tonight. Even then, the only
Brentford player they interviewed was Jordan Henderson and they
were asking him about his feelings for Liverpool.
The punditry in this country is on the floor.
Talk about big team bias…

If it’s not a penalty for Liverpool (which I agree with) it’s
not a penalty for Brentford either. Minimal contact
