Found this really interesting personally. A good debate between
general football fans and a former official in Mark Clattenburg.
It’s fair to say I didn’t agree with everything he said but he
raised some good points as well.
Worth a watch if you have the time.

       Thanks for the link.
Not had chance to watch it all but was interested in MC saying
VAR should not be used for subjective decisions.
There is certainly a case for that view but if a referee, or his
assistants, have not seen an incident at all - for SFP or
handball in the area for example - that cannot be said to be
subjective. Or even if his angle or view was such he couldn't
assess an incident fully. Was MC asked about that aspect or
       comment on it?
Of course, the fan's and his view on inconsistencies is
       perfectly valid.
I was surprised at his assertion that players no longer go into
challenges with studs showing to hurt an opponent. I'd like to
believe that was true and it may be quite rare, but I'd need
some convincing. From the few minutes I watched, I felt MC to be
a little dogmatic in expressing his opinion, stating something
as an absolute when some would argue otherwise.
Did I hear him refer to 14 or 16 PL referees? I thought it was
       a few more than that.
Must try and watch the rest to get a fuller impression.

18 officials have refereed in the premier league so far this
season. Obviously, that excludes Paul Tierney and Darren Bond
who are still out with injury but Tierney is very close to a
prem return as he’s had several EFL games.
