Are we not halting the game for head injuries anymore? Terribly
inconsistent with general decision making. He was properly
injured too may I add!
Apparently Oliver didn't see it. (edited, not acceptable on this
forum), he was right in front of it.

No doubt I’m going to get pelters here but it all comes from
players across the league conning officials when it comes to
exaggerating head injuries. Perhaps when players actually start
playing fair officials will stop the game when they’re lying on
the deck.

First, I felt that was a handball offence just now and should
have been a penalty to Liverpool, but in the EPL, VAR never
going to intervene for that type of offence.
On the head injury I think there was about 10 seconds between
the incident and the goal. It happens and the referee quickly
turns to follow play. Could 4O or AR have informed him? Of
course, but these are dynamic situations and it is tough to stop
play when a team bearing down on goal. Of course, player safety
is paramount, but players don’t help themselves in that regard.
Im not saying it’s right, but some comments read more like a
Liverpool fans forum, than the considered analysis we usually
get.

Head contact doesn't necessarily mean play is stopped. There has
to be a delay for the player to fall to the ground and later, an
injury suspected. That takes seconds by which time the referee
has followed play and cannot possibly know an injury has been
inflicted requiring attention and play stopping. When you
consider this, you cannot criticise the referee as he cannot see
everything at once.
Naturally Liverpool supporters will lose perspective but that is
football.
And I agree, too many players feign head injury but what can you
do? Also, another pet hate, goalkeepers going down in last 15
minutes with an injury that requires 5 minutes to be resolved.
Successfully too! Meanwhile players get a rest, momentum lost.

On my way home from the game now and still unhappy about the
game not being stopped for a clear head injury. I thought Oliver
was inconsistent throughout. What on earth was that drop ball?
Why was there no sanction when Gravenberch was injured by a
reckless challenge?
Liverpool were poor but the referee’s performance was worse.

I didn’t watch the first five minutes so have no idea about the
incident being discussed in the lead up to the opening goal.
However I did think eight minutes added in the second half
seemed slightly excessive - five or six would’ve been more than
sufficient in my eyes. There were a lot of subs and a couple of
injury stoppages that I can think of but in terms of wasting
time there didn’t feel like there was much.
