Ruebyn Ricardo - Birmingham v Hull

Seemed like a difficult game to officiate and there seems to be
some allegations from Hull towards the Birmingham coaching
staff.
Anyway good to see a red card for this dissent. It was obviously
bad whatever was said based on the reaction of the other
players.

Looked like a yellow card for dissent followed by a red for
OFFINBUS?

I think that's exactly right. Very encouraging to see an up and
coming referee not tolerate personal abuse directed at him,
other might learn from his excellent example.

If RefWatch is to be believed, there were 2 poor decisions in
this game. The none award of a penalty and failure to award a
free kick which led to the fracas. Mr. Ricardo who is highly
rated I believe, will have several learning points from this
game.

Another very promising referee who is still learning his trade
and could be argued he’s being pushed too far too soon ?

I think it was in the Charlton game where the keeper came out
and cleared out the attacker in shall we say an aggressive
manner. The referee didn't give it but the AR certainly did and
the correct decision reached - and a red card issued. In the
Birmingham game the referee was in a similar position to the
referee in the Charlton game and may not have seen the incident
clearly but the AR should have!
As for the brawl, it was one of DG's hobby horses. Referees
should in his opinion give what everyone expects and stop trying
to play on. Had Ricardo done that, no-one would have complained
and the follow up tackle which unfortunately happened in front
of the benches would never have occurred. Trying to play on to
keep the game flowing can backfire. Maybe this is what happened
- or the offence was missed which I think was not the case.
Definitely a promising referee and that should be remembered.

It was, against Sheffield Wednesday. The referee somehow missed
it but was bailed out by one of the other officials. Somewhat
astonishingly they deemed it DOGSO as he only got a one game
ban, seems a clear case of SFP to me. Video should start at the
right place but if not go to 1:53.

I watched this game live and have to say everyone has missed the
clear wrong yellow card given to a hull player I. The 82nd
minute , where in fact it was Egan who was already on a yellow
and the commentator even went as far as to say he thought
Ricardo bottled it as he knew he was on a yellow so booked his
team mate who was next to him…..
Ricardo was average, tried hard to be everyone best mate it
seemed but it didn’t work 10 yellows 1 red … he needs to get
back to basics and apply law and deal with what is in front of
him.

Another red card for foul and abusive language in Barnsley-Man
United last night. Good to see this not being accepted anymore
