       Are we saying that if the offence occurs in the defensive half
       of the field it cannot be a sending off? If all defenders are in
       the penalty area and the offence is committed by the goalkeeper
       he can't be sent off? All the Law states is that the "distance
       between the offence and the goal must be considered." You will
       never have a clearer goalscoring opportunity than two
       international attacking players bearing down on a goalkeeper
       with the nearest 1 non-fouling defender 7 or 8 yards behind the
       offence on a bowling green playing surface and one of these
       players is one of the quickest players around.

       I would dispute 'you will never...' because I have seen multiple
       clearer opportunities over the year!
       I think that a lot of what you say can't be taken into account,
       such as the speed of the player, the presence of the second
       attacker and the fact they are internationals.
       If a player was fouled in their own half when they literally
       otherwise had an open goal then you could perhaps make an
       argument for ar ed but I think Saturday was a clear yellow.
