This is how the law is written, there's nothing about whether
the restart is delayed or not, it is just about whether
treatment is completed quickly. If the referee deems it wasn't
quickly then the PGMOL requirement for a player who has received
treatment to stay off the pitch for 30 seconds would apply.
Exceptions to the requirement to leave the field of play are
only when:
• a goalkeeper is injured
• a goalkeeper and an outfield player have collided and need
attention
• players from the same team have collided and need attention
• a severe injury has occurred
• a player is injured as the result of a physical offence for
which the opponent is cautioned or sent off (e.g. reckless or
serious foul challenge), if the assessment/treatment is
completed quickly
• a penalty kick has been awarded and the injured player will
be the kicker
My point is that if the game can’t be restarted anyway, what
benefit is there to not letting them on immediately if the
treatment wasn’t “quickly”?
The only reason I can think the law would apply to quick
treatment only would be for delaying purposes, but regardless of
how long the player is down (assuming it’s one of the 99.9%
occasions they are fouled and treated on the pitch), the game
won’t be restarted anyway so I don’t see why this should only be
for quick treatment

booking our 17 year old who wasn’t even in the matchday squad
was a strange choice!
How can someone not named in the matchday squad be cautioned?
Unless he was listed as part of the coaching staff (which I
rather doubt) he shouldn’t have been on the bench at all; surely
a disciplinary issue in itself.

Tranmere Rovers FC v Barnet FC
Football League 2
Referee: Eley, Richard
Assistant Referee: Topp, Jake
Assistant Referee: Mulraine, Kevin
Fourth Official: Moss, Joe
I can't hold it against Mr Eley that he's been in the middle for
two of the worst Tranmere home performances in recent times.
Generally he did ok, no problem with fitness, but he did perhaps
hold back on producing cards in the first half, where one or two
were arguably merited and would have reinforced his authority.
The first YC shown to the Barnet keeper, Slicker, was one of the
most blatant examples of time-wasting likely to be seen. His
overruling of the ARs awarding of a throw-in to Rovers, led to a
touchline scuffle. I wasn't well-placed to judge it's merits,but
Rovers'Norman was perhaps fortunate to escape the YC shown to a
Barnet player for their part in the incident. After the whistle
blew to end the game, Barnet's Ofborgh ran the length of the
field to initially congratulate his keeper, but then goad the
home fans. He was challenged about this behaviour by Norman and
Slicker then pushed Norman over from behind causing scuffles to
break out. Mr Eley showed the Red Card to the keeper, but ought
to have ensured he left the field of play at that point instead
of allowing him to remain on the pitch.Bizarre end to the match.

Being a newcomer I'm not sure how to post highlights. So if
anyone is board, take a look at the YouTube re run of the first
5 minutes of the Chesterfield v Salford game and try and explain
the outcome of the incident in front of the dugouts.. It's wort
a laugh. Cheers
