A first half very calmly negotiated by Darren England. Very well
officiated so far.

Was excellent, had a control and composure that Mr Barrott
lacked last April.
FWI: from in stadium view, Dewsbury Hall did not get booked for
taking his free kick too quickly as socials are saying, he got
booked for his temper tantrum he had when Darren blew the
whistle back!
Also big well done to Bobby Madley's ears if they survived the
90 listening to whingy Moyes who got booked at end for moaning,
how a person can be such a pathetic complainer i don't know, he
had nothing to moan about!

I didn't see the first 30 minutes, but I thought Darren put in a
good performance in the 60+ minutes which I did see. Darren
Fletcher and Ally McCoist were bemoaning the length of time it
was taking to set up and take free kicks in key positions, but
at least they acknowledged that it was not the ref's fault. They
also rather laughed at Darren's decision to yellow card an
Everton player for apparently taking a free kick before he blew
his whistle, but maybe the yellow card was for dissent rather
than taking the kick too quickly. They questioned just 3 minutes
of added time at the end of the game, with which I have to say I
agree. Overall, a good performance and Darren can be pleased
with his afternoon's work in difficult climatic circumstances.

The conditions weren’t difficult, it was calm, hardly any rain
and a balmy seventeen degrees or thereabouts.
I see Mr. Grealish has suggested Liverpool players went down
very easily which leaves me somewhat nonplussed. Mo Salah
endured his standard three or four wrestles without anything
being given so I’m not sure if it’s a genuine grievance or an
attempt at comedy.
I thought Darren England did well today.

I just wanted to clarify something on the yellow card that
England gave to Dewsbury-Hall in the second half. Anyone can
correct me if I’m wrong.
So, this happened earlier in the half when Everton won a free
kick just inside the Liverpool half and they set up as if they
intended to cross it into the box. Therefore, England put the
spray down where the free kick was to be taken and he then went
to speak to players about holding and tussling. During this
time, Dewsbury-Hall tried to take the FK quickly but England
stopped it as he was communicating with other players.
About 10-15 minutes later, the exact same happened and KDH was
awarded a yellow card.
So basically my main question is does this come under
‘restarting the play without the referee’s decision’. As England
already gave a warning the first time, he had no option but to
give a yellow card the second time.
And also, would the Everton players say to England they intend
to cross it in the box from that position in which case Darren
England has to go through the whole process of setting up a free
kick from which they intend to attack with.
I may be wrong entirely and the YC may have just been given for
dissent but I think the criticism of this yellow card has been
blown wildly out of proportion by pundits who, quite frankly, do
not understand the laws of the game.

According to Adam above it was dissent not for trying to restart
it quickly

The yellow card only appeared after KDH started throwing his
arms about and shouting at Darren, no sign of it coming out
before then, either way it seems a yellow was warranted.
