Matt Donohue - Southampton vs Portsmouth

It’s been 36 seconds and Donohue has already had to talk to the
managers!
Update: Been 4 minutes, objects have already been thrown onto a
Portsmouth player during a corner
🤦‍♂️
Wishing him the best of luck for today in what seems to be a
very loud atmosphere as expected.

I feel sorry for Stephen Martin. He will have earache by half
time.

Hoping he has some strong painkillers in his bag…
Luckily his muscles won’t hurt, only two boards to hold up for
this half (incl added time)

Macho Man was busy yesterday at Bournemouth too by the sounds of
it.

John Mousinho was just whining and moaning the entire first
half, seemed to be incessant. Martin dealt as well as he could,
but was unacceptable from Mousinho.

Really impressed with Donahue overall. Handled fairly and
consistently throughout I felt.
Barring one Pompey goal kick call near the end, and booking the
wrong manager in the second half (Mousinho was the one doing the
constant whining, not Still, so booking the latter for his first
real interjection seemed harsh). Other than that he was pretty
faultless, and seemed in constant control.
Hinchcliffe on commentary very complimentary, which was good to
see.

Nice to hear Donohue had a good game. Was officiating myself so
couldn’t watch it. I must have just caught him having a poor day
at the office at Preston a few weeks ago because from what
people are commenting on here, it sounds much more like the
Donohue I know.
Never easy to officiate a derby game, especially when neither
side has played against each other for a while so well done to
him.

He was good and stayed out of trouble. Only errors were an
incorrect goal kick awarded and the foul that led to the Still
yellow card wasn’t remotely a foul. Not excusing Still’s
reaction of course.
